Skåla in Sogn og Fjordane, at 1848 meters above sea level, is Norway's highest mountain peak with its base at the fjord.

The spectacular journey to the summit of Skåla, which passes through Jostedalsbreen National Park, among other places, has made the mountain a very popular hiking destination. The trail up, and the iconic Skålatårnet (Skåla Tower) at the top, were built in 1891 and have since been restored by Sherpas from Nepal.

Skålatårnet was built as a sanatorium, initiated by doctor Hans Henrik Gerhard Kloumann. Today, Skåla, like the new Skålabu, is a DNT cabin – where hikers can rest after ascending over 1800 meters from the tar stones at Tjugen in Loen. Similarly, daring skiers can enjoy one of the country's longest continuous descents of over 1800 meters during winter.

Illustrations and photos are printed on 240g matte art paper. All images are wrapped in tissue paper and rolled in cardboard tubes before shipping. If you want framing, or wish to pick up yourself in Ålesund, you can choose "Click and Collect" and select Modo Ålesund Storsenter as your delivery option.
