"Milk casein" fiber was used in many garments and household items in America and Europe in the 1930s and 40s. It is made using a process similar to rayon/viscose (derived from wood pulp), but because it is a regenerated protein fiber, it reacts like wool. Historically, it was used as a wool alternative, supplying soldiers on the front lines in times of wool scarcity. However, it fell out of use after World War II ended, and newer, cheaper synthetic fabrics like nylon grew in popularity. Cotton/milk fabric improves skin comfort, moisture absorption, and is naturally antibacterial.
Made from 50% organic cotton, 50% viscose milk protein
